It’s a special honor to get to know and care for a whole family on the level that a family physician can. I love that I get to go to work every day to try and make people’s lives better. To me, the doctor-patient relationship is an equal team where both members take an active role. The doctor’s most important role as that of educator. So my job is to give you the information you need to make an informed decision that fits best in your life. Your job is to buy into the plan we make together, remembering that pills alone are rarely enough, and lifestyle is very real medicine. It always makes my day when a patient comes back after working hard to make the changes we previously discussed, whether that’s cutting back on smoking, becoming more active, or trying to get diabetes under better control. Those successes, large or small, never stop inspiring me.
